texture . blog carousel

Every month, I join up with a very talented group of photographers from all over in a “blog carousel”. A different theme is chosen and then each of us post our interpretation of that theme – then you get to visit each blog by clicking on the links in each post until you come back around to mine! It’s always so fun seeing everyone’s perspectives.

This month’s theme is “texture” so I grabbed a few from the archives to show a couple different ways that I use it. First, is the kind of texture I add after I take the picture – like in these images from a teen session in the studio. I think it adds a little more *oomph* to the images:

Then, there is the texture that is already in the images that I create. I especially tend to use a lot of textures in newborn sessions – from blankets, to furs, to hats … even the grass!

Please continue through the carousel and visit the fabulous St. Louis Photographer, Lauri Baker, to see what she has come up with!

PamN - Your work is so beautiful, and it’s because of attention to details like this!

Dena Robles - Your use of texture in the first 2 photographs is subtle, but makes a wonderful impact. In the last 2 images, I love the way your use of naturally occurring textures add movement and interest in the images. Such lovely work.
