Me.
When it comes to what I like and dislike, I can’t remember ever fitting into a single category, stereotype or label. I’ve always just simply liked what I liked.
According to my dad, I am a hippie. When I argued this term, he said it was because I tend to be carefree, loving, open-minded, and colorful. He also said that the things I value most actually have value. I suppose that’s not so bad.
My husband thinks I’m perfect … well, for him anyway … and I feel the same way about him. He makes me laugh, he makes me cry (those sappy happy tears) and I am often overwhelmed with the way he loves me. He’s amazing.
I have five great kids that think I am the coolest mom ever. After all, I did have pink hair not too long ago. Though I do think it has more to do with how I know how to have fun on a regular basis, I lift them up and hug them tight when they’re down, discipline them when they’re rotten (and have actually received a few thanks afterward – which mean the world to me), and just enjoy being around them. Through all of this, I have earned such a high level of love, respect and trust from them that I will never take for granted. Now if only I could prevent them from growing up so darn fast …
A close friend of mine is fascinated by personalities – and even more intrigued with mine. She can’t seem to figure me out and it is very amusing to see her try. Even though her attempts to pinpoint me to a single definition can frustrate her, I look at being undefined as a compliment. At least she knows what truly matters – that I am a loyal friend she can depend on through every up and down life has to offer. What’s great is that I know I have the same in her.
I am far from flawless. I am simple. I love finding the beauty in the everyday and I love seeing a part of me in each piece of art that I create. I love to be moved by photographs, as well as dancing; both can express so much without saying a word. I am a Christian and love to worship God in singing and in dance. I love every single memory of the grandmother who taught me unconditional love and strength. My favorite colors are green and grey (and I prefer to spell grey with an “e”). I love to eat sushi at the sushi bar so I can watch the chef create his work of art. I get warm fuzzies when I watch most romantic comedies and I love the smell and sound of rain. I am one of a kind.
I am Simply Corey.
You.
Everyone has their own story and you are no exception. Your life will continually be filled with personal circumstances differing from those around you, with each experience making up a unique you.
Often, we wish to relive the best moments life has given us and we long to hold onto the memories forever. A photograph is an excellent way to capture memories and I would love to assist you in celebrating what matters most – your life and the relationships within.
I believe that portraits are so much more than a personalized piece of paper to throw in a frame or album – they’re memories of the ones you love and are absolutely precious. Photographs have a way of taking you back in time and can even be daily reminders of how much you love someone. Portraits shouldn’t be limited to weddings and new babies – celebrate the life you’ve been given as it is today. Celebrate you.
You are simply art.
